At iBlink ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the iBlink mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

A. Personal and Sensitive Information:

  • Biometric Data (Facial Data): Our app uses facial recognition technology. We collect and process facial images and "facial templates" (mathematical representations of facial features) to provide identification, attendance, and security services.
  • Account Data: Name, email address, and username provided during registration.
  • Contact Information: Phone number (if provided for 2FA or support).

B. Automatically Collected Data:

  • Device Identifiers: We collect your Device ID and OS version to ensure compatibility and security.
  • Usage Logs: Information about app crashes and performance analytics (via Firebase, Sentry, or similar tools).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Face Recognition Services: To identify users and provide access control and attendance features as requested by the user.
  • App Functionality: To maintain your account and provide customer support.
  • Security & Fraud Prevention: To protect against unauthorized access and maintain the integrity of our biometric systems.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

  • Cloud Providers: Secure storage of encrypted data (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
  • Third-Party SDKs: We use SDKs such as Google Analytics for Firebase for app performance monitoring.

4. Data Retention and Deletion (Crucial for Play Store/App Store)

  • Retention: We retain facial data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
  • Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
  • In-App: Go to Settings > Profile > Delete Account.
  • Online Request: Email us at info@iblink.io to request data deletion.
  • Biometric Deletion: Upon account deletion, all stored facial templates are permanently purged from our servers within 30 days.

5. Security

We use industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest. Biometric data is stored in an encrypted, non-reconstructable format.

6. Children’s Privacy

iBlink is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately.

7. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in Canada, the US, or other regions where iBlink operates. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for cross-border transfers.
